Please read all maintenance items below, these cars need TLC, make sure yours has the maintenance completed. You could pay $12k or $15k and then have a $5k - $10k repair bill or just buy the right car...
I have owned this car for 10 years, it's my second M Roadster. The car has always been garaged in California. I have 10 years worth of records including Oil changes (Lubro Moly/Mann Filters) Brake fluid flushes, Coolant flushes, Transmission and Differential fluids have been replaced, Fuel filter replaced, Glove Box Fix, New Seat belt tensioner, O2 sensor before the Cat replaced, Front sway bar links replaced.
At 80k and 12 year old (this is when it's due) the Cooling system was replaced includes: (Radiator, Expansion Tank, Water Pump, Belts, Hoses) Front and Rear bushings, Subframe bushings have been replaced, Front Struts, Rear Shocks (including mounts) have been replaced, Tires have 50% + left.
At 100k replaced the following: Shift knob, Rheostat (headlamp; switch),Starter and Battery. The nose and hood have been repainted and had dings removed in the past 2 years.
At 106k (When most M Roadsters need some clutch work) I did a complete replacement (at Bavarian Motorsport in Milpitas,CA these guys know M cars inside out...) vs. cutting corners to last another 100k.
I replaced the Clutch(BMW Clutch Kit) Pilot Bearing, Clutch Release Arm/Spring, Shift Rod/Coupler, Exhaust and Lock Nuts, Shifter Pivot Bushings, Flex Disc, Transmission Mounts, Shifter Lever/Boot/Support Bushings/Shaft Seal, Selector rod, Clutch arm pivot point, Shift Platform Bushing, Clutch Slave Cylinder, Clutch Hose, Clutch Pedal, Bushing and Master Cylinder. The seat bushings have also been replaced.
Car has never been tracked, raced or red-lined.
Additionally the car has a 6 CD changer, wind deflector, car cover, tonneau cover for the top when it's down.
