For sale right now on AutoTrader is a restored 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that once belonged to country singer Hank Williams Jr.

Son of music legend Hank Williams, Hank Jr. is an award-winning musician in his own right. He's produced dozens of albums over the years, some of which have reached the number one spot on the Billboard top country albums list. Williams has won many awards throughout his career including a Grammy and multiple Emmys.

Lately, Williams may be best known for controversy. The country star had famously performed Are You Ready For Some Football as the opening for ESPN's Monday Night Football for years. Last year the network ended Williams' decades long relationship with the program after he made controversial comments about President Obama on a Fox News talk show.

Controversy aside, you would be hard pressed to knock Williams for his taste in cars. The country star bought his Jeep from the restoration gurus at Wagonmaster in Kerrville, Texas. The small shop buys and completely rebuilds low mileage Grand Wagoneers, bringing them back to near-showroom condition.

Current owner Bruce Hoar said he bought the truck from a broker who worked for Hank Williams Jr. Hoar owned an older Grand Wagoneer in the past and fell in love with the truck's classic look and smooth ride. "It's kind of like a four-wheel drive Cadillac," Hoar said.

The Grand Wagoneer had one of the longest production runs in history, remaining relatively unchanged from its introduction in the early '60s to its end in 1991.

A 144-horsepower, 5.9-liter V8 engine powers the Wagoneer. The truck is rated at 11 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving, but that has never swayed the Wagoneer faithful, who regard its gas guzzling tendencies as an endearing quirk of character.

Determining value on this sort of vehicle can be difficult. The seller is asking $22,995 for the Grand Wagoneer, which is at the high end for Jeeps of this vintage. It's worth noting, however, that freshly restored trucks in this kind of condition are going for twice as much at specialty shops.
