Shoppers interested in a lightly used luxury car with an interesting celebrity history should consider this 2011 Porsche Panamera 4 currently listed for sale on AutoTrader.com. Offered by C2G Motorsports in Decatur, Georgia, the 4-door Porsche was once owned by NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal–and it has the high-end custom wheels and extra legroom to prove it.
According to Bruce, the Internet manager at C2G Motorsports, O’Neal purchased this Panamera new off of the showroom floor. We suspect the NBA star’s Porsche dealer didn’t have much inventory, as the model is only a 6-cylinder Panamera 4, instead of a V8-powered Panamera S or 500-horsepower Panamera Turbo. That’s hardly in keeping with Shaq’s style, as his other cars have included powerful exotics like a Ferrari 456, a fleet of high-dollar Bentley models and a customized Mercedes S550 the celebrity had transformed into a convertible.
Regardless of the reason Shaq chose a Panamera 4, he didn’t keep the car stock for long. According to Bruce, Shaq took the Panamera to West Coast Customs — a famous California tuning shop well-known for its work with MTV’s Pimp My Ride TV show — just weeks after his purchase. There, the luxury hatchback received 22-inch, 3-piece Modulare wheels painted black with a satin finish. West Coast Customs also moved back the driver’s seat to give Shaq more legroom, making the Panamera perfect for a tall driver.
“It’s so sick,” said Bruce, who especially complimented the Panamera’s all-black exterior finish. “People will be looking at you when you drive down the street in this. West Coast Customs did great.”
In addition to its custom wheels and driving position, Shaq’s former Panamera 4 offers a long list of luxury equipment drivers will enjoy. Such items include ventilated seats, a navigation system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel and Porsche’s lightning-quick dual-clutch automatic transmission. Being a Panamera 4, Shaq’s ride also includes all-wheel drive — though we wouldn’t recommend driving in dangerous conditions with the high-end wheels and performance tires mounted on the luxury car.
Although Bruce wouldn’t mention how he came to possess Shaq’s Panamera, he did say several of the car’s ownership documents list the basketball star’s name. The Panamera is also shown on West Coast Custom’s website, verifying O’Neal’s ownership. That, along with the sedan’s Porsche nameplate and blacked-out look, makes it one of the coolest Panameras around — and it’s available at an asking price of $74,999 before taxes with just 15,600 miles on the odometer.
What it means to you: Shaquille O’Neal’s Panamera is a unique ride that stands out from other cars thanks to blacked-out accessories and an exciting ownership history.
