Owning a Dodge Viper is a unique experience. It's hard to not feel like a celebrity cruising down the road when you're in a 400 horsepower open top supercar. If that's the sensation you want then we may have found the car for you.

For sale right now on AutoTrader is this 1994 Dodge Viper that once belonged to World Series champion catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is one of the top ranked catchers in the history of Major League Baseball. He received a record 13 Golden Gloves, and helped the Florida Marlins win the 2003 World Series. In 1993 he formed the Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez Foundation, which supports families of children with cancer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Puerto Rico.

The car is listed for sale by its current owner, Jeff Poncini. "It's one of the most amazing American sports cars," Poncini said "It's something I've always wanted."

Poncini bought the car as a replacement for a Nissan 350Z, but he said he was surprised at the lack of creature comforts in the Dodge supercar. "It doesn't have all the amenities as my Nissan, but as a raw machine, it's pretty incredible."

He's not kidding. The first generation of the Dodge Viper is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in under five seconds but doesn't even have side windows.

This particular model does come with some optional extras. The Rodriguez Viper was specced out with a removable soft-top and air conditioning, which in a first generation Viper are considered decadent luxuries.

Poncini said he picked up the car at auction, and it came with some Ivan Rodriguez memorabilia like a signed bat that he intends to leave with the car when he sells it.

The asking price for the Viper is $29,999, which is a little lower than the estimated value from Kelley Blue Book for a similar car. With the celebrity history and the extra memorabilia this Viper is looking like a pretty decent deal for baseball fans and car enthusiasts alike.
