2000 Mercury Cars and SUVs

After a history of more than 70 years, the Mercury brand was discontinued by its parent company Ford in 2011. It was a premium brand in the Ford family slotted between Ford and Lincoln as an entry-level luxury brand and a more affordable alternative to Lincoln. It had some unique vehicles like the Cougar, but most of Mercury’s lineup towards the end of its life was little more than rebadged Fords with more content and slightly higher prices. Examples include the Grand Marquis which was based on the Ford Crown Victoria, the Mountaineer which was a reskinned Ford Explorer, and the Milan which had a lot in common with the Ford Fusion. Mercury models still serve as more luxurious alternatives to similar Fords on the used market with very similar pricing. If you’re shopping for a used Ford, it might have a Mercury variant that’s worth considering.
