The Cayenne E-Hybrid comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine that's tuned to produce 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, along with a permanent magnet asynchronous electric motor that puts out 134 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, for a total system horsepower/torque rating of 455 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, routed through an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission.
The battery pack is a fluid-cooled 14.1 kWh Lithium-ion unit that can be charged with a standard 3.6-kW onboard charger (7.2 kW optional) that has Level 1 and Level 2 capability. A charging cable with a J1772 EV plug is included, and additional accessory cables are available. Charging time is approximately eight hours using 120-volt household current, or about 2.5 hours with 240 volts. Significantly, the Cayenne E-Hybrid does not have DC Fast Charging capability.
Full LED lighting is standard on the exterior, including headlamps, running lights, taillights and turn signals. Nineteen-inch wheels are standard, with wheel sizes up to 22 inches available (a first for the Cayenne). Paint is available in two standard exterior colors, seven metallic colors and a special color, Lava Orange. Acid green-painted brake calipers are standard. An automatic power rear lift gate is standard. The Sport Chrono Package is standard, as is Porsche Traction Management (PTM).
The Standard Interior comes with partial leather or leather seats. Leather Interior and Club Leather Interior options are available upgrades. Eight-way power seats are standard, 14-way power seats with memory function are available, and Sport Seats Plus with 18-way power adjustment and memory function and massage are the premium option. The rear seat is a 40/20/40 split with a folding center armrest and individually folding backrests.
Porsche 4D Chassis Control is standard, and the standard suspension is a multi-link front and multi-link rear with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) dampers. Air suspension is available. Steering is electromechanical with a variable ratio. Front and rear ParkAssist with a reversing camera is standard, along with cruise control. A proximity key with keyless start is standard. Manual tilt and telescopic adjustment puts the steering wheel in the perfect driving position. The cabin has three 12-volt charging ports and four USB charging ports, along with four cupholders (2 front/2 rear) and a bottle holder in each door panel.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a 12.3-in landscape screen provides the visual interface to infotainment, HVAC, navigation and other vehicle functions. Navigation, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay, Voice Control, Wi-Fi, a telephone module, USB and aux-in are standard. A 150-watt, 10-speaker audio system is standard.
Dual-zone climate control, tinted thermally-insulated glass, a particle/pollen filter with an active carbon filter, and auxiliary cabin conditioning help keep the cabin comfortable.
There's no spare tire onboard -- just an inflation kit.
Several options packages are available, including the Premium Package ($6,470), Premium Package Plus ($8,950) and Assistance Package ($6,240). Available audio upgrades include a Bose Surround Sound System ($1,200), Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment ($1,920) and the glorious Burmester 3D High-End Surround Sound System ($7,000). Scores of interior and exterior appearance upgrades are also available, including various leather, Alcantara, wood, aluminum, stainless steel and carbon fiber packages.
