The Tradesman Crew Cab is $3,555 more than the 2500 Regular cab counterpart. And the Mega Cab skips the Tradesman trim and starts at the Big Horn level, adding $12,780 to the most basic price. The optional diesel engines cost $9,400 or $12,195 for the high-output version. Where it’s not standard, expect to pay around $3,000 for all-wheel drive. Vehicle prices include the $1,695 destination charge. Tradesman trim ($35,790) comes in Regular and Crew Cab body styles. It’s a bare-bones work truck with a standard black mesh grille, black bumpers, halogen headlamps, 17-in steel wheels, heavy-duty vinyl or cloth seats and an open upper glovebox. They add a chrome grille surround, chrome bumpers, 18-in steel wheels, a choice of a front bench or bucket seats, and an integrated trailer brake controller. Options include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, 8.4-inch touchscreen AM/FM/Satellite radio, navigation, premium audio system, sunroof, LED exterior lighting, front/rear parking sensors, and 20-in alloy wheels. As mentioned above, a new Night Edition adds black wheels and trim. The Power Wagon ($55,230) comes solely as a Crew Cab and with all-wheel drive. Equipment includes black fender flares, black off-road grille, powder-coated black bumpers, large tow hooks, Warn Zeon 12 winch, manual transfer case lever, tread-embossed cloth/vinyl seats, 7-in digital instrument cluster, 33-in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac high-traction tires wrapped around 17-in alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, fog lamps, Bilstein shocks, locking front/rear differentials, skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case, hill descent control, 4.10:1 final drive, and a disconnecting anti-roll bar up front. Laramie ($51,330) available in Crew and Mega Cab body styles. This version brings a chrome billet grille, chrome mirrors/door handles, 18-in alloy wheels, body-color wheel flares, leather seat trim, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, ambient lighting, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Laramie trim is eligible for power-retractable side steps, 20-in alloy wheels, leather/suede seat coverings, 12-in Uconnect infotainment touchscreen, and a 17-speaker audio system. Laramie Longhorn ($58,775) — available in Crew and Mega Cab body styles — upgrades to a chrome-slatted grille, fixed side steps (powered side steps are optional), chrome bumpers, adaptive headlamps, Southwest-style leather-wrapped dashboard/door panels/armrests, alligator-look dash/seats/console/door trim, satin chrome/brushed-nickel cabin highlights, barn-wood accents, and wood center-console tandem doors. Body-colored bumpers are optional. A towing technology package includes cargo-view and surround-view cameras, trailer tow mirrors, trailer reverse guidance, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. RAM 2500 Safety

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 a Safe Car?

A safety package adds adaptive cruise control with full stop, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, LED exterior lighting, automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) perform crash tests of heavy-duty trucks, but the similar Ram 1500 received scores of Good from the IIHS across the board, earning it a Top Safety Pick+ award. The Ram Heavy Duty may not perform identically in a crash, but the Ram 1500’s results point toward its larger stablemates offering relatively good protection in an accident.
