FAQ: Creating an Ad for Your Car

Here are the five most asked questions when creating an ad for your car.

  1. How do I upload pictures to my ad? Click the select photo button. Your saved photos on your device or computer will appear. Locate the photo you would like to upload. Once you select your photo, it will automatically upload. Photo Tip: Images should be landscape orientation, have good lighting, pleasant background and should not exceed 5MB.

  2. How do I remove my ad? Go to the Sell My Car page. In the right hand corner, click on the Manage or Remove Ad button. Enter your email address and Ad ID to log in to your account. Click the Remove Ad button at the top of the page.
  3. How can I avoid fraud? Please read these helpful tips for personal safety and avoiding scams.
  4. How do I know what’s a good price for selling my car? Do you have tools to help me price my vehicle? You can use Autotrader’s used car valuation tool to find the Kelley Blue Book® Value of your car. Value Your Car
  5. How do I find the VIN? A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a unique 17-character sequence of numbers and letters assigned to each car by the manufacturer when the car is built. This number can be found in these places: Driver’s side of the dashboard by the window, driver’s side doorjamb, and on your auto insurance card or state registration form.
