We planned for this to be our last car (I'm 82) and maintained it accordingly. Changes in CA DMV rules for old drivers forced us to get a newer car with all the safety doodads. This does have blind spot detection and great crash protection, along with most of the options available in 2013. Gas mileage averages 27 in the city. Tires, from a division of Continental, were sold by America's Tire. I just had them inspect them. Tread depth 6/32 or more; they estimate at least 10,000 more miles with normal driving. Got new battery last month from AAA. Interior is clean--no rips or stains in upholstery, some worn spots in carpeting. Exterior mostly clean except for some scrapes on the bottom part of the bumpers. Paint is Crystal White, a 3-layer finish that cost $150 premium when new. As far as I know it needs no repairs or maintenance right now. Always synthetic oil. Low mileage for this vintage. Had Sylvania LED headlights installed on mechanic's advice for being compatible and reliable. With passenger seat moved forward all the way and the back seats flipped down you have ab. 6'2&quot; of length fore to aft. Long enough for 1 or 2 people to sleep in it, using it as mini camper. Only practical because it's a hatchback. From across the street the car looks nearly new. If you inspect it up it looks its age--like someone you see out jogging who's fit and 50, meaning up close you see the crow's feet and suchlike. The Mazda 3's are, overall, one of the best compacts out there--more fun to drive than the Toyota Corolla, cheaper to maintain than a Subaru Impreza, most similar to a Honda Civic but better looking and a bit more fun; nothing else in this class worth considering. And ample headroom for tall drivers like me. After 2013 the Mazda 3 got bigger, cushier and a bit less agile. I actually prefer this vintage. We have AAA so can do title transfer at an AAA office. Terms are cashier's check, no crypto. No lowball offers--we aren't desperate.
