The 2024 Toyota Prius Prime borrows the sleek body of the Prius Hybrid (reviewed separately) and adds plug-in hybrid componentry, which means the car travels up to 44 miles solely on electric power. Unlike the hybrid, the Prime can be plugged in and charged overnight. If your daily commute is less than 40 miles round trip, you may never have to fill up with gas. The Prius Prime costs more than the Prius, but it shares much of the same content spread over three trims: SE, XSE, and XSE Premium. However, all-wheel drive is not available on the Prime.
