The Toyota Corolla may be one of the best-known names in the compact car business. It's undoubtedly one of the oldest. The Corolla survives because it offers basic, affordable transportation to budget-conscious buyers but doesn't ask them to give up things like safety, fuel economy, or reliability. It also holds its value exceptionally well. The Corolla offers as much passenger space as many small SUVs, but its trunk is less versatile. All use the same 169-horsepower 2.0-liter engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

It also features 10 airbags, including rear side-impact airbags. Notable standard features include remote keyless entry, LED headlights, cloth upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen hosting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota">Toyota</a> Connected Services. Optional are a proximity keyless entry system, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, heated side mirrors, a power sunroof, and a wireless charging pad.

<a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/new-cars/2024/toyota/corolla/se">2024 Toyota Corolla SE</a>: The SE adds a sportier look to the LE with a revised front end, color-keyed rear spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Upgrades include heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, sport cloth covering the seats, and metallic accents. Optional equipment mirrors that of the LE.

2024 Toyota Corolla Nightshade: The Nightshade is a design package attached to the SE trim. It adds black styling elements to the trim, badges, mirror caps, and mesh grille. 18-inch wheels in bronze complete the look. The Nightshade comes in three paint choices: Midnight Black, Ice Cap, or Classic Silver. Options for the Nightshade beyond those mentioned for the SE include a nine-speaker JBL audio system with an amplifier and subwoofer.

It features most of the SE's optional equipment, such as a proximity keyless entry system, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, and a power sunroof. The XSE retains the SE’s sporty 18-inch alloy wheels, then adds a gray metallic rear spoiler, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, SofTex synthetic leather upholstery with cloth inserts, and steering wheel paddle shifters. The XSE also gets a configurable 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a wireless charging pad. The only option is the JBL audio upgrade.
