Don’t become too excited over reading that Alfa Romeo Opens a New Window. has a certified pre-owned program. There’s one big caveat: Qualifying vehicles may be hard to find. We expect that to change over time as Alfa Romeo grows in popularity among American performance car fans.
To be sure, there are some CPO Alfas available. Blame the scarcity on Alfa models only being recently available as new cars, as well as their low sales volume. When you do find one near you, the CPO warranty is comparatively comprehensive.
What We Like
The CPO warranty length; no deductible; roadside assistance is included
What We Don’t
No CPO Website, yet; no special CPO financing, yet
Basically, the CPO warranty extends the original bumper-to-bumper limited warranty out to a maximum of 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Because the original warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles, that means when that warranty expires, the CPO will kick in and continue the coverage for up to an additional 2 years or 50,000 miles. If the CPO owner resells the vehicle, the CPO warranty is transferable one time for a fee.
To qualify as a CPO, an Alfa vehicle must be less than five years old with fewer than 50,000 miles on the odometer. It must undergo a 175-point inspection resulting in a dealer certification that any issues have been addressed. A CARFAX vehicle history will also be provided to the buyer.
Other features include 24/7 roadside assistance for the duration of the CPO warranty. Covered repairs can be performed by any franchised Alfa Romeo dealer with no deductible to be paid by the owner. A rental-car allowance of $35 per day is available for up to five days. And finally, a complimentary 3-month satellite-radio subscription is included.
In the end, this is a good program for normal cars, offering many of the benefits of a traditional CPO program. Only Alfa vehicles are anything but normal. Therefore, it’s probably worth searching for a CPO Alfa in your area. Find a CPO Alfa Romeo for sale
