Ferrari Certified Pre-Owned Program

Overview

If you have your heart set on purchasing a used Ferrari, we suggest you consider a certified pre-owned (CPO) one. These are cars originally registered in the past 14 years that have passed a 101-point inspection. Ferrari technicians have made all needed repairs, as well as restoring the interior and exterior to age-appropriate shape. Unlike other brands, however, Ferrari CPO coverage of 1 year or 2 years with unlimited mileage is priced separately from the cost of the CPO car. Ferrari also offers its Power 15 warranty covering major mechanicals like the engine, transmission, suspension and so forth for 15 years from the original registration date.

Program Specifics

The most important aspect of any CPO program is the additional bumper-to-bumper limited warranty coverage. In the case of Ferrari CPO that coverage can be for either 1 year or 2 years. As with Ferrari’s original 3-year new-car warranty, both CPO warranties have no mileage cap. This is a real advantage to owners planning to do a lot of driving. Furthermore, Ferrari offers its Power 15 plan covering major mechanical components like the engine and transmission. The “15” represents the number of years from the original new-car purchase date that the warranty is in effect.

Unlike other carmakers’ CPO plans, Ferrari doesn’t include its CPO coverage in the sticker price of the pre-owned car. CPO warranty coverage is a separate cost. When purchased new, each Ferrari comes with 7 years of free maintenance. This perk transfers to CPO cars less than seven years old.

In addition to the 101-point inspection and the repair of any damaged components, Ferrari spruces up its CPO cars inside and out. The goal is to bring each CPO car up to its age-appropriate condition.

Added-value benefits include 24/7 roadside assistance for the length of the bumper-to-bumper CPO warranty. Whenever possible, Ferrari will provide a loaner car during covered repairs. Ferrari often extends special finance terms to CPO buyers. Finally, each CPO Ferrari comes with a 90-day satellite-radio subscription.

Does the extra cost of the Ferrari CPO plans make sense? Even 10-year old Ferrari models can command hundreds of thousands of dollars. If something breaks, the repair costs are hefty. With that in mind, we think it’s always worth looking at CPO Ferrari models first.
