Is the 2021 Audi A7 a Safe Car?

As standard, the 2021 A7 includes Audi Pre-Sense basic and Audi Pre-Sense front. In plain English, Pre-Sense basic is Audi’s system that is always attuned to a potential crash and prepares the car for such an event by pre-tensioning the seatbelts, closing the windows and flashing the hazard lights at a high rate. Pre-Sense front is the A7’s system to warn of a forward collision and apply the brakes to prevent or lessen damage. The A7 also comes with lane-departure warning. For 2021, the Premium Plus trim includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. It also has blind-spot monitoring, which Audi calls “side assist,” along with rear cross-traffic alert. Additionally, this trim features a 360-degree camera system. A7 Prestige is further fitted with an emergency assist system that can bring the car to a stop if the driver becomes incapacitated. It also has the ability to scan intersections for potential vehicles in the car’s path, plus traffic sign recognition. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the A7 top marks in all major crashworthiness categories, earning it one of the Institute’s Top Safety Pick+ awards.

2021 Audi A7 vs the competition

2021 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class — Not a hatchback like the A7, but stylish all the same. For 2021 the CLS gets the more sophisticated MBUX infotainment system to better compete with the Audi. 2021 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe — The 8 Series is positioned above the full-size 7 Series in BMW‘s lineup and is thus more expensive than the A7, which is marketed as a more stylish take on the A6. 2021 Tesla Model S — More expensive, but Tesla’s all-electric car has cutting-edge technology, panache, and autonomous driving features all its own. Used Porsche Panamera — Similar in concept to the A7, also has a beautiful cabin, plus a choice of excellent engines to take full advantage of a brilliant chassis.
