Overview

How Much Does a 2021 Acura RDX Cost?

The 2021 Acura RDX ($39,225) comes in just one trim level. All-wheel drive is an extra $2,000. Standard equipment includes 19-in alloy wheels, four driving modes, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic LED headlights, powered liftgate, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry/ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated/8-way power-adjustable front seats with 4-way power lumbar adjustment, simulated leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a self-dimming rearview mirror.   The infotainment system consists of Acura’s True Touchpad Interface (10.2-in screen, center console touch controller), Wi-Fi, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, HD/satellite radio, auxiliary audio input, and a 9-speaker sound system. There are no individual options. All extra equipment is obtained through three options packages. But the Advance package cannot be ordered with the A-Spec. The Technology package adds different 19-in alloy wheels, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, front/rear parking sensors, GPS-linked climate control (it detects the sun’s position and alters airflow accordingly), leather upholstery, two USB ports in the back, navigation, and a 12-speaker Panasonic/ELS Studio sound system. From there, offerings fork in two directions. The A-Spec package requires the Technology package, then brings exterior and interior styling variations (explained in our 2019 Acura RDX vs. RDX A-Spec: What’s the Difference? video). Additions include 20-in alloy wheels, LED fog lights, heated/ventilated front seats, and a 16-speaker Panasonic/ELS Studio audio system. The Advance package also requires the Technology package, but adds adaptive suspension dampers, rain-sensing wipers, hands-free liftgate operation, LED fog lights, acoustic front side glass, a head-up display, heated/ventilated/12-way front seats with power-adjustable bolsters and thigh support, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, 360-degree camera system, washer for the rearview camera, and a 16-speaker ELS sound system.

Competition

2021 Acura RDX vs the competition

2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio — Stylish and less commonplace than many rivals. Great fun for drivers. 2021 Audi Q5 — Highly stylish, sophisticated cabin, plenty of tech, plug-in hybrid variant available, and all-wheel drive is standard.   2021 BMW X3 — The perennial go-to choice for those seeking a sporty premium SUV. Yet the X3 can still be comfortable. It’s well-rounded, well-made, and quite spacious. 2021 Jaguar F-Pace — Spacious, with a choice of engines, a superb chassis, and arguably good looks. 2021 Lexus NX — Especially refined and tranquil, comprehensive standard equipment (including blind-spot monitoring), superb resale values. Not much driver appeal, though. 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class — Although smaller than the RDX inside, the GLC nevertheless offers a sophisticated driving experience, a truly luxurious cabin, and classic styling. 2021 Volvo XC60 — The stylish XC60 is another spacious compact crossover. Like the RDX, it also enjoys sterling safety credentials. It’s one of our must test drives. Used Acura MDX — For more space, and/or if a new MDX is too expensive, a used or certified pre-owned (CPO) example would be a great choice given Acura’s excellent reputation for reliability.
