Chevrolet has done it again. The automaker has revived the race-ready, high-performance COPO Camaro for the 2015 model year. The name recalls a 1960s-era Camaro that offered serious muscle car performance, thanks to a 427-cubic-inch V8. The 2015 Chevrolet COPO Camaro model is a low-production, drag-race-ready Camaro that isn’t designed for driving on the street.
This year, Chevrolet is offering a choice between six different V8 engines, ranging from 5.3 to 7 liters — naturally aspirated or supercharged, depending on your drag racing class. Features include a National Hot Rod Association-certified factory roll cage, slick tires, an improved transmission and a rear axle designed for drag racing.
Although production of the 2015 Chevrolet COPO Camaro will be limited to just 69 total units, Chevrolet is offering a variety of the dragster’s parts to regular Camaro owners, allowing for a wide range of factory-authorized modification and enhanced performance.
