Best Kia EV6 Years to Buy Used

Used Kia EV6 Quick Facts

  • The best years to buy a used Kia EV6 are the 2023 or 2024 model years because they seem to have fewer owner complaints.
  • Introduced in 2022, the EV6 offers up to 319 miles of range in some model years and ultra-fast charging capability on some used models.
  • The vehicle’s V2L connectivity lets you power small tools or appliances.

The EV6 was the first in Kia’s series of new-age electric vehicles, arriving for the 2022 model year. It offers striking styling, impressive range numbers, and a host of compelling technology and safety features that make it a great option on the used market. While it has been on sale for only a few model years, many low-mileage off-lease examples are available for a fraction of their original MSRP. Here’s what you need to know about the best years to buy a used Kia EV6.

Which Is the Best Model-Year Used Kia EV6?

We’d go with the 2023 or 2024 EV6, as these years seem to have fewer owner complaints. That said, the 2025 model-year EV6 received a significant update, adding more range and additional features. There are fewer 2025 models for sale on Autotrader, but they make a great used EV, if you can afford the slightly higher prices.

Is the Kia EV6 a Good Car?

The Kia EV6 is a solid compact electric crossover. It stands out with unique styling, and most variants offer strong electric driving range estimates. The interior is comfortable and upscale, and Kia equips it with a long list of standard tech and safety features, making all EV6 models a good choice for people who like screens and gadgets. While the high-performance EV6 GT was discontinued for the 2026 model year, it remains shockingly quick, though its sporty front seats might be too tight for some.

Can the Kia EV6 Use a Tesla supercharger?

Yes, Kia EV6 drivers can potentially use Tesla Superchargers starting in March 2025, but they must use an NACS adapter. Kia EV6 owners can find Supercharger locations in the Kia Access app. Kia offers free NACS adapters to buyers who purchase on or after September 4, 2024. Kia’s adapter is designed to be compatible with Kia EVs, including the EV6. Using other adapters may void the vehicle warranty for adapter-specific repairs.

How Long Does the EV6 Battery Last?

Expect a Kia EV6’s battery to last 10-20 years. Around the 10-year mark, the battery should still work but may begin to degrade, meaning it will hold less and less of its charge over time. Other conditions that may shorten battery life include improper maintenance, overcharging, and extreme temperatures. When buying a used electric vehicle, request that the dealership provide the EV battery health score.

How Much Does a Used Kia EV6 Cost?

There are currently 540 used models for sale on Autotrader, with high-mileage (100,000+) examples listed as low as $12,500. Kia’s warranty, while impressive, only covers 10 years or 100,000 miles, so we recommend opting for a lower-mileage example if possible. The good news is that there are dozens of used models for sale with fewer than 40,000 miles, many with sub-$20,000 list prices.
