2019 Toyota Camry Overview - Having undergone a major revamp in 2018, the 2019 Toyota Camry returns substantially unchanged. A wildly popular midsize sedan, the Camry cuts a wide swath through the segment with its range of trims and powertrains. Moreover, you can lean more toward the traditional with the L, LE, and XLE or drift more toward sporty with the SE and XSE. We like the Camry for its well-appointed cabin, range of powertrains, easy-to-use technology, and excellent fuel economy. The standard engine for all grades is a 203-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Its estimated fuel economy for combined city and highway driving is 34 miles per gallon in the L trim and 32 mpg for all the other grades. You can opt for a V6 in the XLE and XSE. The hybrid powertrain delivers 51 mpg city/53 mpg highway/52 mpg combined in the L. In the SE Hybrid and XLE Hybrid, those numbers drop to 44 mpg/47 mpg/46 mpg. With the standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, the L’s mileage is 29 mpg/41 mpg/34 mpg. In the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE, the mileage is 28 mpg/39 mpg/32 mpg.
 
Which 2019 Toyota Camry trim level is the safest? - The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) performed its battery of six crash tests on the Camry. 2019 Toyota Camry L - Standard are 16-inch steel wheels, LED exterior lights (auto on-off headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights), and one USB port. Also included are manual height-adjustable front seats, a power driver lumbar adjustment, air conditioning, and a noise-reducing front windshield. A 4.2-inch driver-information display, cloth seating, a tilt-telescopic steering wheel, remote keyless entry, and a 12-volt power port are also standard. The infotainment system has a 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, Entune 3 interface, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. Among the driver aids are forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control. Toyota offered blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert as an option. Also optional was a Convenience Package with keyless entry with push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a Homelink transceiver. Key features of the 2019 Toyota Camry L trim are:

 <li>LED exterior lighting – This includes headlights with auto on-off, taillights, and daytime running lights (DRLs). LED lights illuminate a broader and longer area than regular incandescent or halogen lights. That means they are also easier for other drivers to see.</li>
 <li>Remote keyless entry – Using the fob, you can unlock and lock the vehicle remotely when in range. </li>
 <li>Forward-collision warning – This alerts the driver when a frontal collision is probable. If the driver doesn’t react, it will automatically apply the brakes. </li>

2019 Toyota Camry LE - The LE and L are very comparable. To L, the LE adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an anti-theft alarm system. The LE offers the same options as the L, plus a few more like dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and a power moonroof.

2019 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid - The only significant difference between the standard LE and the LE Hybrid is the hybrid powertrain. It consists of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 208 hp. According to government estimates, its combined mileage is 52 mpg for the LE and 46 mpg for the SE Hybrid and XLE Hybrid.

2019 Toyota Camry SE - The SE comes with 18-inch black alloy wheels, exterior cladding, a rear spoiler, a single-zone automatic climate control, and faux-leather seating. Also included is a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The SE offers the same option packages as the LE. Key features of the 2019 Toyota Camry SE are:

 <li>Auto climate control – This set-it-and-forget-it system allows you to preset the temperature control. It then automatically maintains that preset temperature.</li>
 <li>Exterior appearance elements – These upgrades include 18-inch black alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a black grille with mesh insert, and color-keyed side rocker panels. </li>
 <li>Leather-wrapped steering wheel – This feature adds a touch of elegance and provides controls for the audio, cruise control, hands-free phone, and more. </li>

2019 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid - Except for the hybrid powertrain, Toyota equips the SE Hybrid the same as the SE.
 
2019 Toyota Camry XLE - You can upgrade to the 301-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission. The estimated combined fuel economy is 26 mpg. Building on the LE, the XLE adds upgraded LED exterior lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch driver-information display, and upgraded adaptive cruise control. Also standard are three driving modes, a 10-inch head-up display (HUD), keyless entry with push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a Homelink transceiver. XLE also includes three USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen, and Tiger Eye interior wood accents. Options include navigation, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, a surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and more. Key fedatures of the 2019 Toyota Camry XLE are:

 <li>Dual-zone automatic climate control – You only need to set it once. Dividing the vehicle into left and right regions, it provides separate temperature settings for each region. Once set, it automatically maintains the preset temperatures.</li>
