Then Toyota briefly stopped selling the Venza from 2016 - 2020. In <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2021/toyota/venza" target="_blank">2021</a>, the Venza was updated and reintroduced while giving consumers the option of a <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/hybrid/toyota/venza" target="_blank">hybrid</a> or gasoline version, making <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/car-shopping/all-wheel-drive-do-you-really-need-it" target="_blank">all-wheel-drive (AWD)</a> standard and making the vehicle's platform to be more in line with an SUV/crossover to compete with the Toyota Highlander and Subaru Outback. Our editors love the inclusion of numerous safety features and capabilities such as full-speed range adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist but we're disappointed with the Venza's off-roading capabilities even with the aforementioned AWD. There are three driving modes available (Economy, Normal, and Sport) and the inside of the Venza is comfortable and quiet. We were so impressed by the updated Venza, it made our list of best new cars for 2021. Popular trims of the Venza include the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/venza/le" target="_blank">LE</a>, <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/venza/nightshade" target="_blank">Nightshade</a>, and <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/venza/xle" target="_blank">XLE</a>. The <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/venza/limited" target="_blank">Limited</a> version includes a 12-inch touchscreen, the larger wheels, and tires and the heated/ventilated front seats and we think this might be worth the additional cost. If you're looking for a hybrid crossover with AWD capable of earning between 37-40mpg, the Venza should be on your short list.
