Introduced for the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2004/acura/tsx" target="_blank">2004 model year</a>, the TSX at the time was Acura's smallest, sportiest, and most affordable sedan but yet it never seem to gain traction with car shoppers and was a bit underappreciated. In 2009 the second generation of the TSX came out and included an optional V6 capable of producing 280 horsepower; there was also a TSX wagon as well during these years. Our editors liked the value of the TSX Wagon so much we ranked the 2014 model year as the best used wagon under $20,000 in 2022. Some have argued that Acura peaked in the mid-2000s but we think the jury is still out. In terms of fuel economy, the TSX averaged around 19 - 31 miles per gallon which isn't bad but not great. In terms of safety equipment, the TSX offered an active headrest-restraint system, 3-point seat belts for every seat, and six airbags which isn't much compared to more recently produced vehicles. <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2014/acura/tsx" target="_blank">2014</a> was the last model year of the TSX and in 2015, the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/acura/tlx" target="_blank">Acura TLX</a> replaced both the TSX (as well as the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/acura/tl" target="_blank">Acura TL</a>). If you're looking at a TSX these days our editors would advice that you save your money and pass on the V6 version and opt for the 201-hp 4-cylinder engine option.
