Toyota Pickup

Under the hood of the Pickup is either a four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine, depending on the cab configuration. Earlier models feature a solid front axle, and midway through the third-generation the Pickup switched to independent front suspension. 

Toyota Stout

The Toyota Stout is a 2WD truck powered by a four-cylinder engine. All models came in a regular cab configuration and a column-shift manual transmission.

Toyota T100

Before the Tundra came to market, Toyota’s full-size truck was the T100. In the early model years, all Toyota T100 models had a regular cab and featured a 2.7-liter I4 or 3.0-liter V6. In 1995, the larger Xtracab became available, and the 3.0-liter V6 was replaced with a more powerful 3.4-liter V6 engine.

In 2000, the Tundra joined the Toyota truck lineup, and it has been a hit ever since. The Tundra is one of the most reliable trucks in the world. Toyota analyzed a million-mile example while developing the third-generation to ensure it would be even more capable than previous generations. Drivers looking to maximize their towing capacity will want to shop for a second-generation with a 5.7-liter V8 or the non-hybrid variant 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 of the third-generation Toyota Tundra.

The Toyota Tundra is also available in the ever-popular TRD Pro trim. However, its off-road capabilities are more limited, which is most noticeable on tight trails because it is nearly two feet longer than the Tacoma. The top-of-the-line Tundra trim is the Capstone, a luxurious truck that is more suited for driving on pavement than the dirt with its 22-inch chrome wheels, semi-aniline leather seats, and walnut wood trim.
