The wide fenders, low stance, and signature M3 grilles are subtle indicators that the E46 M3 isn't your average <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/bmw/3-series" target="_blank">3 Series car</a>. Powering the E46 M3 is a 3.2L inline six-cylinder engine that produces 333 HP / 262 LB-FT. The high-revving engine has a redline of over 8,000 RPM and can propel the M3 from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. The E46 M3 was the first generation to have the Competition Package available. The package includes 19-inch forged lightweight wheels, upgraded brakes, suspension tuning, a more direct steering ratio, and an M track mode button. The M track mode button modifies the dynamic stability control to be less invasive but active enough to know when things are starting to get out of control.

The M3 has grown in size with every generation, and the sixth generation is 12 inches longer and 400 lbs heavier than the third generation.
