Used BMW M4 Competition for Sale in Elgin, IL - Autotrader

The BMW M4 is a highly competent sports car that is well-suited for a variety of driving. Drivers looking to push the performance needle further should consider a BMW with the Competition Package. The F82 M4 Competition costs roughly $5,000 more than a base model M4 and includes a plethora of performance upgrades. There have been revisions to the engine to squeeze out extra horsepower, which raises the output to 444 HP and shaves 0.1 seconds off the 0-60 acceleration time. The 7-speed M Double Clutch transmission completes the sprint to 60 MPH in 3.8 seconds and the 6-speed manual in a respectable 4.1 seconds.

In addition to improving power output, the Competition Package also refines handling on the F82 M4. The Adaptive M Suspension helps improve cornering on various road surfaces and features three modes: Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. A set of forged wheels reduces weight and works seamlessly with the adaptive suspension to smooth out imperfections on the road and racetrack.

The BMW G82 M4 Competition marks the introduction of xDrive to the M4. Another notable milestone is crossing the 500-horsepower threshold for the first time. Previously, the M4 GTS was the most powerful M4, with 493 horsepower. Adding xDrive to the M4 was somewhat out of necessity because acceleration can only improve to a certain point when using an RWD drivetrain. The M4 Competition xDrive is nearly half a second faster when accelerating from 0-60 at 3.4 seconds compared to 3.8 seconds for the M4 Competition RWD model.

The Competition variant of an M Series car has historically been a great value, which remains true with the G82 M4. When equipped with the M Driver's Package, the top speed of the M4 rises from 155 to 180 MPH. The supercar-like performance that The M4 Competition xDrive delivers doesn't come cheap, with prices quickly crossing into the six-figure territory with a handful of options.
