Used BMW M8 Competition for Sale in Evanston, IL - Autotrader

The BMW F92 M8 Competition tops the charts regarding power, price, and luxury in terms of M Series cars. Once you add a few options to the M8 Competition, arriving at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of around $150,000 is easy. To put things into perspective, you can fully option a BMW M3 competition xDrive with every bell and whistle and spend tens of thousands of dollars less. While both BMW M cars are capable of incredible performance, the M8 is a grand tourer, while the M3 is a sports car.

Drivers looking for a luxurious and fast M Series car should search no further than the F92 M8. The M8 Competition features standard extended Merino leather and has an optional full leather interior that makes the cabin even more luxurious. BMW offers four types of leather, and Merino is at the top of the list for quality and cost.

Powering the M8 Competition is a twin-turbo 4.4L V8 engine that produces 617 HP / 553 LB-FT. The engine is in a hot V design that uses cross-bank exhaust manifolds to maximize throttle response by reducing the distance from the exhaust valves to the turbochargers. The engine utilizes water-to-air intercooler systems to manage the heat associated with turbochargers. There are two separate circuits for water to flow through, one for the intercoolers and another for the engine and turbochargers. The powerful engine paired with xDrive makes for a blistering fast acceleration time of 0-60 in 3 seconds.

One of the most advanced features of the BMW M8 Competition is the ability to toggle between AWD and RWD. While AWD will yield faster acceleration and more predictable handling in inclement weather, there is no denying the sheer joy that drifting an BMW M8 in RWD mode can provide even the most hardcore car enthusiast.
