There have been two generations of the Honda Ridgeline. The Ridgeline wasn't produced for 2015 and 2016. What separates the Ridgeline from other truck models is the lack of an body-on-frame construction instead, Honda opted for a more carlike unibody build similar to a crossover. In fact, some our our reviewers have called the Ridgeline a "<a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/honda/pilot" target="_blank">Honda Pilot</a> with a truck bed." This unusual build approach results in a bed-floor cargo area that acts like a trunk and smooth ride. While our editors love the Ridgeline's safety features, mechanical reliability, handling and ride we're frustrated by its limited off-road capabilities, only one choice for cab and bed length, and limited towing abilities. The Ridgeline comes standard as a front-wheel-drive truck, a unique choice given that most trucks come in rear-wheel-drive, but there is also a <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/awd-4wd/honda/ridgeline" target="_blank">all-wheel-drive Ridgeline</a> should you want it. In terms of fuel economy, you should expect around 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The team at Honda redesigned the Ridgeline for the 2021 model year, giving it tougher and more aggressive lines. Our editors ranked the Ridgeline 6th overall among all midsize pickups for 2022 and it has regularly appeared on various "best midsize trucks" list, especially if you're on a $10,000 or $20,000 budget. We see a lot of value in the Ridgeline and you can't deny its practicality given Honda's reputation for producing highly reliable cars and trucks.
