Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (2nd Generation: 2019 - Current)

Key Improvements: Having debuted in 2019, the current RAV4 Hybrid has had a good run. Compared to the first generation, the second-gen RAV4 Hybrid is better in almost every way. It's larger, with more interior room, ground clearance, and cargo space. There’s also more advanced technology, a better multimedia setup, better fuel economy, and more power. With 219 horsepower under the hood, the RAV4 Hybrid has no problem getting up and going. It is tow-rated at 1,750 pounds and has a combined EPA estimate of 39 mpg. The RAV4 Hybrid offers all of Toyota’s latest safety tech, including such standard features as adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warning. New features include Apple CarPlay (and later, Android Auto) integration, road sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, rear seat air vents, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Initially, the RAV4 Hybrid started with four trims but expanded to seven by 2024.

Model Updates: For 2020, the RAV4 Hybrid gains Android Auto integration and a power driver’s seat for the XLE. 2021 adds the XLE Premium trim, while 2022 sees another trim level added, the SE, and the addition of LED headlights across the lineup. 2023 brings the Woodland Edition easily identified by its outdoorsy look, TRD-inspired suspension, and all-terrain tires.

Model Updates: For 2017, Toyota Safety Sense is made standard. It includes forward collision warning and avoidance, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control. A new SE trim joins the XLE and Limited. For 2018, a lower-priced LE trim is added.
