<p>Take one 3-row Toyota Highlander, stretch it in all directions, add some styling and feature upgrades, and voila! You have the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. The most significant advantage over the Highlander is more room in the third-row seat and a larger cargo bay. Beyond that, the two SUVs share the same features and powertrain, in this case, a spunky turbocharged 2.4-liter engine cranking out 265 horsepower. The Grand Highlander also enjoys the same reputation for safety, reliability, and strong resale. And, because it's grand, the trims ladder skips the LE and starts with the better-equipped XLE, progresses to Limited, and ends with Platinum.</p>

<p><strong>What's New for 2024:</strong></p>

<p>The 2024 <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota">Toyota</a> Grand Highlander is all-new and stretched an additional 6.5 inches to help make travel for up to eight passengers a bit less cramped. It is also wider and taller than the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/highlander">Toyota Highlander</a>.</p>

On the safety front, it comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and traffic sign recognition. Hill Start Assist, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard. The XLE has a power liftgate, front wiper de-icers, a proximity keyless entry system, heated side mirrors, and 18-inch wheels. The cabin touts a 10-way power driver’s seat and 8-way power passenger seat (both heated), second-row captain’s chair seating, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other unexpected features include rear door sunshades, a wireless charging pad, and USB-C charge ports in all three rows. The XLE’s only options are a panoramic moonroof and a second-row bench seat.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/new-cars/2024/toyota/grand-highlander/platinum">2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Limited</a></strong>: The Limited is for people who like a few more creature comforts but still want to keep a reasonable monthly payment. Adding to the XLE’s content, the Limited brings 20-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, a foot-activated power liftgate, and rain-sensing wipers. The cabin has leather seating surfaces, heated and cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, driver’s seat memory, and a removable second-row console. The upgrades are complete with an 11-speaker JBL sound system, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, two 110-volt outlets, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Options for the Limited beyond a panoramic moonroof and second-row bench seat include a panoramic 360-degree monitor and 20-inch satin black wheels.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/new-cars/2024/toyota/grand-highlander/xle">2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum</a></strong>: At the top of the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/grand-highlander">Toyota Grand Highlander</a>  pecking order is the Platinum, offering near Lexus-level luxury and a price to match. It includes all the Limited’s standard and optional equipment. It adds AWD, heated and cooling captain’s chairs, a 360-degree monitor, a head-up display, a digital rearview camera mirror, front cross-traffic alert, and a semi-autonomous driving aid called Traffic Assist. With Traffic Jam Assist, the Grand Highlander can accelerate, brake, and steer in bumper-to-bumper traffic at speeds of 25 mph or less. The system does require the driver to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel.</p>
