The all-electric Nissan Leaf is one of the best selling plug-in electric vehicles of all time, only surpassed by the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/tesla/model-3" target="_blank">Tesla Model-3</a> in terms of total units sold. First arriving in showrooms for the the model year <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2011/nissan/leaf" target="_blank">2011</a>, the Leaf sold so well due to its affordable and budget friendly pricing, allowing it to compete for new car sales among EV and non-EV vehicles. Initially the Leaf had a modest driving range of only 73 miles but Nissan's engineering team gradually increased the vehicle's total drive range slowly over the following years.
