While it can’t travel as far as some competitors, the bZ4X makes a sound commuter car backed by a brand known for its reliability, safety, and resale.

Toyota bZ4X (1st Generation: 2023 - Current)

Key Improvements: The bZ4X comes in two trims: XLE and Limited. Front-drive versions employ a single electric motor generating about 201 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive version adds a second electric motor at the rear axle, upping the output to 214 hp. The bZ4X can travel about 252 miles, which drops to around 222 miles with all-wheel drive. Standard driver-assist systems include forward collision warning and braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors with braking, and auto-high beam headlights. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fixed glass panel roof, rain-sensing wipers, and proximity keyless entry. Available equipment includes a JBL audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a foot-activated power tailgate, and a Digital Key that turns a smartphone into a key.

Model Updates: The 2024 bZ4X sees more features added. The XLE gets an 8-way power driver's seat and a power liftgate, while the Limited gains a self-parking feature for parallel and perpendicular parking.
