The Toyota C-HR subcompact crossover SUV first arrived to the U.S. in <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2018/toyota/c-hr" target="_blank">2018</a>. Available only as a front-wheel drive car, the C-HR stands out from the rest of the crossovers due to its distinctive attitude and funky styling. You could make the argument that the C-HR is more hatchback than crossover but we aren't here to split hairs. Toyota is known for producing vehicles with plenty of safety features and ample technology while being highly reliable and the C-HR checks all those boxes. One thing our editors didn't like was the C-HR's poor rear visibility, lack of <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/awd-4wd" target="_blank">all-wheel-drive</a>, and moderate cargo space but we did praise the car's handling. Practical and offering a lot of value, the C-HR is a car that grows on you after spending some time with it. Standard safety equipment includes a drivers knee airbag, an under-cushion airbag on the front passenger side, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection, adaptive radar cruise control, lane-tracing assistance, lane departure warning with active steering assistance, and automatic high beams. The premium <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/c-hr/xle" target="_blank">XLE</a> and <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/c-hr/limited" target="_blank">Limited</a> trims offer blind-spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic warning system. Consumers can expect a fuel economy of around 27 miles per gallon city and 31 mpg highway which falls in line with the average sub-compact SUV. The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine in the C-HR produces a meager 144 horsepower so you shouldn't expect much in terms of off-the-line acceleration. Other trims to consider include the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/c-hr/le" target="_blank">LE</a> and <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/c-hr/nightshade" target="_blank">Nightshade</a>. Due to disappointing sales, <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/2022/toyota/c-hr" target="_blank">2022</a> was the last model year of the C-HR and Toyota shoppers will want to consider the comparable <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/toyota/corolla-cross" target="_blank">Toyota Corolla Cross</a> as an alternative.
