Both engines are backed by a 66RFE six-speed automatic transmission. For heavy-duty towing chores, Ram offers the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six-cylinder engine with a choice of power levels and transmission choices. Power with the six-speed manual transmission is rated 350 hp at 2,800 rpm at 2,800 rpm and 660 lb-ft at 1,500 rpm. When mated to the Aisin AS69RC six-speed automatic transmission, the Cummins turbodiesel cranks out 385 hp at 2,800 rpm and 900 lb-ft at 1,700 rpm. Depending on body style and options, max payload for the Ram 3500 HD is 7,390 pounds, and max towing is 31,210 pounds. Rear-wheel-drive is standard and four-wheel-drive is available on all four body styles, which include Regular Cab long bed, Crew Cab short bed, Crew Cab long bed, and Mega Cab short bed.
