This stunning 1997 Land Rover Defender D90 (chassis number 1185 of only 2800 North American Specification models ever produced) is a rare, meticulously restored icon that s ready for its next adventure. Finished in eye-catching British Racing Green, this Defender underwent an exhaustive rotisserie frame-up restoration by the specialists at Highgate Motors in Barrington, Illinois. The project began in January 2010 and was completed over eight years, culminating in October 2018. Every detail was addressed with precision and premium craftsmanship. Key highlights of this no-expense-spared build include: Purchased by the last owner in April 2005 with 35,000 miles; now showing approximately 65,000 miles total still low for a classic of this caliber. Frame and axles fully sandblasted and powdercoated in black for ultimate corrosion protection. Extensive Line-X bedliner application to door panels, firewall, roll cage, rear bumper, wheel arches, and floors after sandblasting or chemical stripping. Body chemically stripped and expertly repainted in factory-correct British Racing Green. Rebuilt 4.0L aluminum V8 engine (factory-rated at 182 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque) with multipoint fuel injection refreshed at 58,000 miles. Rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission paired with a dual-range transfer case featuring locking center differential for legendary off-road capability; power delivered to all four wheels. Upgraded front bumper with integrated winch, sidestep rails, skid plate, LED front and rear lighting, and Hella auxiliary driving lights. Modern Kenwood touchscreen stereo connected to a custom sound system featuring MB Quart subwoofer, amplifier, and speakers. New drive shaft and custom-fabricated exhaust system. Impressive 3-inch suspension lift with comprehensive new components: steering damper, control arms, Panhard rods, trailing arms, steering arms, wheel speed sensors, front and rear brake
