The 996 Turbo S was the last ever Turbo S with a 6-speed manual gearbox. All future Turbo S cars were built with PDK transmission. This was also the last Turbo S with the legendary Mezger motor. Mezger engines are phenomenal and share the same DNA as the GT1. There were approximately 963 Turbo S cabriolets built for the 996 platform. It's an exceptionally rare car. This 996 Turbo S is more rare. It's a RUF RTurbo S. The car was upgraded to a RUF RTurbo S on March 28, 2006 by RUF Auto Centre in Dallas (now known as RAC Performance). This upgrade was done by certified RUF technicians when the car had 2,065 miles on it. This was a $29,950 modification. The standard Turbo S had 444 hp. This one is 550 hp with carbon ceramic brakes!
