In the past 30 years, Toyota has made six generations of the RAV4, but this 1st generation 1998 Toyota RAV4 L is the most iconic compact SUV ever produced. It is reliable, sturdy, practical, fun to drive and the styling really sets it apart from the competition. My Mom purchased this RAV4 L new from South Coast Toyota. It was given to me as my first car, so even though I am the second owner, the RAV4 L has been with just one family all these years. The RAV4 L has a 127 hp 16-valve engine with a 4-speed ECT overdrive automatic transmission and front wheel drive. It has 4 passenger doors plus a side-opening rear door, air conditioning that works great, 16-inch alloy wheels, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, Toyota AM/FM/CD/cassette with four speakers, factory tinted windows, factory security system, tilt steering wheel, rear window defroster and wiper, ABS brakes, a keyless entry system, driver and passenger air bags, a locking glove box and a factory optioned roof rack. The RAV4 L has fulling reclining front bucket seats, a split rear bench seat that folds or flips forward for extra cargo space, and a rear cargo area that is huge. The fabric seats are in really good condition considering the age of this vehicle. This RAV4L has always been well cared for with oil changes every 5,000 miles. It has Pirelli Scorpion tires that were mounted in 2022. In recent years, we have replaced the timing belt, installed a new radiator, replaced the oil pump seals and replaced the motor mounts. The car runs great! The air conditioning blows cold! The paint on the hood of the car is showing its age, with several chips, but this is a reliable, mechanically sound, low-maintenance car that is easy to drive, easy to park, easy to get in and out of and it even gets good gas mileage. It's a TOYOTA! You really have to see it to appreciate it. It's located in the city of Orange, California, if you want to take it for a test drive.
