We bought this truck one year ago for $14,000, but we need to sell it immediately at a significant loss. It has received regular service from an excellent mechanic (Milenio Auto) here in Wilmington, DE who installed a new manifold and new front brakes when we purchased the vehicle. The tires were brand new when we bought it and are still in very good shape. The dealer that sold us the truck replaced the catalytic converters and it passed Delaware inspection with no issues when we purchased it in April of 2025. I want to be completely honest about the truck's condition. 1.Like many 2009 Tacomas, the undercarriage has a lot of rust; 2.The paint on the hood of the truck is visibly worn; 3.The air conditioner barely works; and 4.The front driver-side door was badly scraped against a wall during a recent snowstorm (see photos) and the mirror was knocked off. My son was able to re-attach the mirror with a few bolts so he could continue to drive the truck to work safely. Importantly, the electric window mechanism inside the damaged door still works fine. As you can see by the photos, the interior of the vehicle is in great shape because it was protected by high-quality seat covers front and back for the entire time we have owned it. (We removed the seat covers so we could install them on his new vehicle.) We considered replacing the damaged door ourselves (Chuck's Used Auto Parts has one in the right color for $650) but when we bought a new vehicle, we decided to sell the truck as-is. We purchased warranty coverage from Endurance as soon as we brought this Tacoma home, but we haven't needed to use it even once. I will encourage any interested buyers to test-drive the vehicle and to have it inspected by their own local mechanic to verify its condition. If you're looking for a clean, reliable work truck with four full-sized doors, a roomy cab and a large, 5-foot bed, you won't find a better deal than this. Miles Andrien Friday, March 27, 2026
