1987 Ford Mustang GT Convertible A true icon of late-'80s American performance, this 1987 Ford Mustang GT Convertible captures the unmistakable attitude of the Fox Body era-combining V8 power, open-air freedom, and classic 5.0 styling in a highly preserved, low-mileage example. Showing just 4,400 miles on the odometer, this Mustang represents an increasingly rare opportunity to own a piece of Ford performance history in exceptional condition. Power comes from the legendary 302ci (5.0L) V8, factory-rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, paired with a desirable five-speed manual transmission. This combination delivers the raw, analog driving experience that defined the Mustang GT of the era, with power sent to the rear wheels through a responsive drivetrain that enthusiasts continue to celebrate. Equipped with the factory Handling Suspension Package, the car features variable-rate springs, a Quadra-Shock rear setup, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering-providing confident road manners and improved traction under acceleration. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Finished in Black with a striking red accent stripe, the exterior embodies the bold, performance-driven styling that made the GT stand out. Signature GT-specific bodywork is complemented by front fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, louvered taillights, a fixed antenna, rear luggage rack, and iconic 5.0 badging. The black convertible top is paired with a gray vinyl boot, offering a clean and classic open-top presentation. Silver-finished 15-inch aluminum wheels are wrapped in 255/60 Uniroyal Tigerpaw Touring A/S tires installed in 2021, completing the car's period-correct stance. Inside, the cabin is finished in Medium Grey leather, featuring articulated front sport seats and a matching rear bench. The interior remains true to its original design, with a color-coordinated lower dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include an AM/FM/cassette stereo with graphic equalizer, cruise control, and power windows and door locks-blending vintage simplicity with everyday usability. The two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline, along with auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. With its ultra-low mileage, desirable 5-speed configuration, and timeless Fox Body styling, this 1987 Mustang GT Convertible stands as a highly collectible and increasingly sought-after example. Whether added to a collection or enjoyed on the open road, this GT delivers the authentic V8 performance and nostalgic driving experience that only a true 5.0 Mustang can provide.
