This was my father-in-laws suburban (who passed away a few years ago) and was my wife's family vehicle growing up. Because of that, it has a lot of sentimental value to us and will be hard for us to part with. My father-in-law kept really good care of it, so it runs very well, even with high mileage. <br>As far as the engine goes, there are no known issues mechanically and it runs very well. My father-in-law rebuilt the front end suspension a number of years ago, so the suspension feels tight and sturdy. The front brakes were replaced a year ago. Rear drum brakes are still okay. AC and heat work. It also has heated front seats. The middle row and third row can fold down, and you can completely remove the third row if necessary. <br>There are some issues to be noted: The Check Engine light is on. The ABS light is on. The gears on the mode actuator (the unit responsible for changing the fan direction between defrost, head, or feet), are stripped out, so the dial doesn't change the fan direction properly. It still blows air, but it only does the head option. We've also been told by the oil change employees that there's a leak under the engine somewhere, but I haven't noticed any issues mechanically. Although the vehicle had a dvd system, it hasn't worked for a number of years. Lastly, the tires will probably need to be replaced fairly soon.<br>All in all, the vehicle is in good shape for the mileage, and I'm confident that if someone is willing to invest in making the necessary repairs (as stated above), that this vehicle will perform very well for them.
