GM made these GTO's for three years (2004-6), and imported 40,808 of them from Australia (Holden Monaro.) There were a few more with Chevrolet badges and then later some four-door G8's. None of the G8's had a six speed. This car has been used the whole time I have driven it since 2013, about 7,000 miles a year, for its current 172,817 miles. There's a Carfax for its first eight years and after that my own maintenance records, available on request. It has no performance items, if you don't count the adjustable shocks. No one would call overriding the 1-4 shift bypass as a performance item; likewise the poor shifter they sold it with. In the last couple of years I replaced the brake discs with drilled/slotted ones. Every time you get in this car, it's excitement about to happen and you know it. There can't be many $11,000 cars that accelerate, handle, and stop like this one. I average 23 mpg so you know I don't press it very often. I know at least one 80-year old who still has his (supercharged), but this 80-year old is passing his GTO along.
