Perfect Auto Collection Signature Listing 2016 Ferrari 488 Spider VIN ZFF80AMAXG | 16,834 miles Ferrari painted this one twice before it ever left Maranello. Nothing about the rest of the order was cautious either. Why We Acquired This Vehicle Most 488 Spiders were ordered well. A smaller number were ordered by somebody who treated the option list as a design brief rather than a menu. This is one of those, and we know it precisely rather than approximately, because the car arrived with its original Monroney label. That document shows it left Maranello at a total of $348,103 against a $272,700 port-of-entry price - more than seventy-five thousand dollars of specification on a car that needed none of it to be extraordinary. The money went into the paintwork, into carbon fiber inside and out, and into the exhaust system. Every one of those choices is verified below rather than assumed. It is finished in Bianco Avus over Nero. White is the hardest color to specify well on a mid-engine car, because it flattens surfaces that darker paint would sculpt - which is exactly why the carbon and the darker second color matter so much here. At 16,834 miles it has been used as intended and looked after while being used. We ask a simpler question: does it stir something, and would we be proud to keep it in our own collection? What sets this Spider apart is that we can prove the answer rather than assert it. The window sticker turns a description into a record - the appointments, what each cost, and what the car totaled when it was new. Buyers at this level have learned to be skeptical of listings that describe a specification without documenting one, and this car settles that question before the conversation starts. Why Enthusiasts Value This Model The 488 returned turbocharging to Ferrari's mid-engine V8 for the first time since the F40, and the Spider is where the case is hardest to argue with. Its aluminum retractable hardtop was engineered to preserve the berlinetta's rigidity, so choosing the open car costs nothing structurally - and it returns the one thing a coupe cannot, which is 661 horsepower playing into open air a few feet behind the cabin. The chassis was never an afterthought either. Side-slip angle control, magnetorheological damping, and carbon-ceramic brakes came as standard equipment on every car, which is why the 488 flatters a good driver rather than merely tolerating one. Production ended in 2019 when the F8 replaced it, and the number of 488 Spiders is now fixed. What buyers are looking for among them is specific: carbon specified with real depth rather than a token piece, a paint and trim combination that took thought, mileage low enough to matter, and original factory documentation proving how the car was built rather than how it is described. That last one separates a handful of cars from the rest of the market - and it is the difference between a listing that claims a car is special and one that can show it. Factory and Vehi>
