I'm the 2nd owner of this Subie, having purchased it in 2017 with 88,000 miles on it. I had been working for a small private school and they moved the location to another school resulting in a good 50 minute one way drive for me. The school was also located in a small valley with a very windy road to travel. I wanted something that would e good on gas and able to handle winter drives often before roads had been plowed or salted. I was the guy who made the call for school or no school those days. So I was counting on this Outback to live up to Subaru's reputation for reliability and good handling on winter roads. Let me say that this car lived up to that reputation in spades. Super reliable and very good handling with the combination of all wheel drive and the Vredstein tires I put on it. Truly a joy to drive, and with the paddles I could almost feel like I was driving a sports car. <br>The carfax report documents most of the routine service for both my ownership as well as the previous. The car has been in zero accidents and no bodywork done on it. My son in law, who details cars on the side, has really outdone himself in making this car look good, both inside and out. So what we're talking about is a Subaru that has been super reliable(NEVER failed to start for me) and never presented any mechanical problems outside of the usual mechanical upkeep. Last year my wife and I drove it out to Northern California where we have kids, and then south and back east stopping at at least 6 National Parks. We racked up over four thousand miles on that trip with zero issues. I did upon return have new shocks and struts installed which have dramatically improved the handling and ride comfort. We averaged about 27 mpg over the trip which involved driving in both mountainous and desert driving. So we've decided that we want to continue traveling but needing more room for gear, luggage and a large cooler. Plus having had 3 back surgeries a more cushy ride and a bit for these old bones.
