Ford's 5.4-liter V8 Expeditions are well-documented for their long-haul durability, and many examples have rolled past 200,000 miles with routine maintenance. Stock #J2037 is ready for inspection and test drives today. ===== 2006 Ford Expedition Performance and Engine ===== ==== 5.4-Liter Triton V8 Power ==== Under the hood sits Ford's legendary 5.4-liter Triton V8 the same engine platform trusted in F-150s, Explorers, and fleet vehicles across the country. Paired with a smooth automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (2WD), this Expedition delivers confident highway merging, easy towing capability, and the kind of low-end torque that makes hauling a full load of passengers or gear feel effortless. For San Diego's mix of freeway commuting, coastal drives, and mountain roads, the power delivery is well-matched to the terrain. The 2WD configuration keeps this Expedition lighter and more fuel-efficient than its 4x4 counterparts a practical choice for Southern California's predominantly dry, paved driving conditions. ===== Ford Expedition XLT Features and Interior ===== ==== Room for the Whole Family and Then Some ==== The XLT trim sits in the heart of the Expedition lineup, giving buyers a well-rounded package of comfort and functionality. Expect three rows of seating capable of accommodating up to eight passengers, ample cargo room behind the third row, and a cabin designed for long drives. Standard XLT features on this generation include cruise control, power windows and locks, a tilt steering wheel, and air conditioning the essentials that make a big SUV genuinely livable day to day. With its generous interior volume, this Expedition works equally well as a family hauler, a road-trip vehicle, or a work rig that doubles as a family car on weekends. ===== Ford Expedition Reliability and Ownership ===== The 2006 Ford Expedition has earned a reputation as one of the more durable full-size SUVs of its era. The 5.4-liter Triton V8 is broadly reliable when spark plugs and cooling system maintenance are kept current two areas known to require attention on this engine family at higher mileages. Buyers should also verify the condition of the rear air suspension if equipped, as this is a known wear item on Expeditions of this generation. On the positive side, parts availability is excellent, independent mechanic familiarity with this platform is widespread, and repair costs are typically reasonable compared to newer or more exotic vehicles. For a buyer who wants a high-value, high-capacity SUV and is comfortable with standard maintenance on an older vehicle, the Expedition XLT at this mileage and price is a pragmatic, capable choice. ===== Why Buy From Siry Motors by Siry & Sons Inc. in San Diego, California ===== Siry Motors by Siry & Sons Inc. is a trusted independent dealer located right here in San Diego, in San Diego County, serving buyers throughout the greater region with a straightforward, no-pressure approach.
