You can buy an E92 M3 for $20-35k right now. Here's why this one is worth $39,000. Every piece of preventive maintenance the S65 V8 is known for is done, and the engine was rebuilt less than 1,000 miles ago. I put nearly $27,000 into it, about two thirds of that in parts. With normal maintenance, this is the M3 I'd expect to go another 150,000 miles without major engine work. It doesn't just have the basics. Rod bearings and throttle actuators are done, plus billet VANOS covers, a race oil cooler, new oil lines, and a full gasket and seal refresh. What makes it rare: main bearings have been replaced. The main bearings are what the crankshaft itself spins in, and to replace you have to pull the engine apart. I searched listings going back five years and could not find a single E92 M3 sold with its mains done. The machine shop also line honed the journals and balanced the crankshaft to bring the bottom end back to spec. Why I did it: I replaced the rod bearings and throttle actuators in 2021 and kept up with maintenance. Last year the car passed a pre-track inspection, and the engine failed on the warm-up lap. It was the main bearings. No crash. Rebuilt by Performance Eurowerks in Gurnee, a respected BMW performance shop. The post-build inspection passed with flying colors, and it passed emissions with no check engine light. Every receipt included. If you want an M3 you can drive hard and trust, this is the one. The one real modification is the genuine BMW M Performance exhaust, widely considered the best sounding option for this V8. Space Gray over black, DCT, 69,3XX miles. Clean title, owned outright. Cold Weather Package, heated power sport seats, factory navigation, carbon roof, aFe intake, Michelin Pilot Super Sports, new battery. Honest 9/10: light curb rash on a couple wheels, minor rock chips up front, small scratch on the rear bumper. Carfax shows a cosmetic front bumper replacement in 2018. Two keys, original mats, full records. PPI welcome.
