ATHLETIC, EXHILARATING, LOW MILEAGE, NO-ACCIDENT, NONSMOKER, OPEN-AIR JOY ON DEMAND! For more than three decades, the Miata has been the answer to a simple question: what's the most fun you can have on four wheels without spending a fortune? The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Grand Touring takes that legendary formula and adds a dramatic power-retractable fastback roof and a comprehensive list of creature comforts. Finished in Mazda's sophisticated Machine Gray Metallic and showing about 54,000 miles, this RF is ready to make every drive feel like an occasion. RF stands for Retractable Fastback. Instead of a traditional soft top, the RF uses a power-folding hardtop that tucks its roof panels neatly away behind the seats while the sculpted rear buttresses stay in place. With the roof up, you get the quiet, secure feel and sleek profile of a coupe. With the roof down, the open-air experience feels like a classic targa-style sports car. It's the best of both worlds, and it gives the RF a look that's uniquely its own. Why Shoppers Buy This Model The MX-5 Miata is the best-selling two-seat roadster in history, and its popularity comes down to a simple philosophy Mazda calls Jinba Ittai -- the feeling of horse and rider as one. Light weight, near-perfect balance, rear-wheel drive, and wonderfully direct steering let the driver feel connected to the road in a way few modern cars still offer, all without needing enormous horsepower. Just as important, the Miata is famously easy to own. It's efficient, reliable, and affordable to maintain, with a reputation for durability that makes it as practical as a daily driver as it is on a winding weekend road. That rare combination of pure driving joy and everyday dependability is why the Miata has earned such a devoted following across generations. Automotive Press and Industry Recognition The fourth-generation MX-5 was widely praised at launch as a return to the Miata's lightweight, driver-focused roots, earning acclaim for its crisp handling, eager engine, and beautifully sculpted KODO design. When the RF arrived, reviewers highlighted its striking fastback styling and added refinement with the roof up, calling it a more grown-up yet still thoroughly entertaining take on the formula. Its tight cabin and small trunk are the most common trade-offs. That works out to fewer than 6,000 miles per year, well below the typical annual average, which suggests an enthusiast's weekend companion rather than a hard-worked commuter. The Miata's simple, proven SKYACTIV engineering has earned a strong reputation for long-term durability, making this RF ready for many more miles of top-down fun. Extended service plans may be available to provide additional peace of mind moving forward. Standard Features The Grand Touring is the RF for drivers who want their sports car to be as comfortable on a long road trip as it is on a twisting back road. Heated leather-trimmed seats, automatic climate control, and a 9-speaker Bose audio system with headrest speakers make open-air driving comfortable in almost any season, while built-in navigation keeps you on track wherever the road leads. Grand Touring also brings a suite of safety technology that sets it apart from the Club. Adaptive front lighting turns the headlights into corners, high beam control manages your brights automatically, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning add confidence in everyday traffic. Automatic wipers and an auto-dimming mirror round out a thoughtfully equipped package. Aftermarket Equipment Photos show this RF has been personalized with a tall, p>
