SPORTY, STYLISH, ELECTRIFIED, LOW-MILEAGE, ONE-OWNER, NONSMOKER, ITALIAN PASSION MEETS PLUG-IN POWER! Named after the Passo del Tonale, an Alpine mountain pass in northern Italy, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is the brand's answer to a question many shoppers have been asking: can a compact luxury SUV have real character? This 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale Ti, finished in Milano White and showing just over 12,300 miles, makes a convincing case, pairing Italian styling and driver-focused handling with the everyday efficiency of a plug-in hybrid. The Ti designation has a long history at Alfa Romeo, where it stands for Turismo Internazionale, a name once reserved for the sportiest, best-equipped versions of the brand's cars. Today it marks the middle rung of the Tonale lineup, the trim that adds everyday luxuries without moving up to the top-of-the-line price. Underneath, this Tonale sends power to all four wheels through an electric all-wheel-drive system, a setup that adds traction and stability in rain and snow while keeping the vehicle light on its feet. It is the kind of all-weather confidence that makes a stylish crossover practical for real life. Why Shoppers Buy This Model The Tonale stands apart in a segment full of polished, predictable crossovers. Its design is unmistakably Alfa Romeo, with a sculpted body, a distinctive front end, and proportions that turn heads in a parking lot, and it backs up those looks with steering and handling that reviewers consistently describe as engaging. Edmunds noted that it is far more hot hatch than plug-in hybrid, and recorded a 0-60 mph time of 5.8 seconds in its own testing, quick numbers for a vehicle that can also drive on electricity alone. The other half of the appeal is the powertrain. Kelley Blue Book points out that the Tonale is the only subcompact luxury SUV with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, which lets owners cover many daily errands and commutes without using a drop of gasoline while keeping the gasoline engine ready for long trips. Add a compact footprint that is easy to park, a cargo area with 22.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats, and a cabin built around a big digital instrument cluster and a modern touchscreen, and it becomes an appealing alternative for shoppers who want something a little different from the usual luxury choices. Automotive Press and Industry Recognition Reviewers have generally responded to the Tonale's blend of style and fun. Edmunds praised its quick acceleration, fun handling, plug-in hybrid efficiency, and distinctive Italian styling, and called it far more hot hatch than plug-in hybrid. SlashGear described it as an exciting version of a sensible choice, with excellent grip and a tight turning circle, and AutoGuide found it fun to drive and attractive enough to earn consistent attention on the road. Reviewers do note that the ride leans firm, in keeping with the Tonale's sporty character, and that the touchscreen can be slow to respond at times. For many buyers, those are fair trade-offs for a plug-in hybrid crossover that is this engaging to drive. Warranty With 12,337 miles on the odometer and CARFAX showing regular oil changes, this Tonale is STILL COVERED by the remainder of Alfa Romeo's factory protection, which transfers to the next retail owner. Remaining transferable factory coverage: Basic Limited Warranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, covering factory-installed systems and parts, including the powertrain. Based on the August 26, 2024 warranty start date, this coverage runs through August 26, 2028, with roughly 37,600 miles of allowance remaining. Plug-in Hybrid Battery and Electrified Components: 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, covering the high-voltage lithium-ion battery and the plug-in hybrid emission-related components. This coverage runs through August 26, 2032, with roughly 87,600 miles of allowance remaining, and it excludes gradual battery capacity loss.>
