2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 For Sale in "Competition Orange!" 1 of 1,039 in Competition Orange | 4.6L DOHC V8 | Automatic | 100% Stock | Clean Carfax WE FINANCE This thing is a time machine. There really isn't a better way to describe it. Finished in unmistakable Competition Orange, this 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is one of those cars that immediately transports you back to the early 2000s. The shaker hood, black Mach 1 graphics, retro-inspired wheels and unmistakable New Edge body are all still here and perhaps most importantly, nobody has messed with it. This car is 100% stock with no modifications, has always been garage kept and has a Clean Carfax with no accidents reported. And then there's the color. Competition Orange. 1 of 1,039. Competition Orange was offered on the Mach 1 for 2004, and published production figures show only 1,039 of the 7,182 Mach 1s built that year were finished in Competition Orange. It's arguably one of the colors most closely associated with Ford's performance cars of this era, and on a Mach 1 with the black hood treatment, shaker scoop and black graphics it just works. This example is also equipped with the automatic transmission, making it an even less commonly encountered configuration within the Competition Orange production run. But rarity isn't the only reason we like this one. Finding an untouched one more than 20 years later is becoming the real trick. Factory Options & Equipment Include: Competition Orange Exterior Premium Package 4.6L High-Output DOHC 32-Valve V8 Functional Shaker Hood Scoop Automatic Transmission Mach 1-Specific Exterior & Interior Equipment Mach Audio Premium Sound System Black Mach 1 Hood Treatment & Graphics Mach 1 Heritage-Style Wheels 100% Stock No Modifications Always Garage Kept Clean Carfax No Accidents Reported VIN: 1FAFP42R44F225216 Exactly How You Want to Find One. Normally, this is where we'd go directly into our Modifications Include: section. There isn't one. No cold-air intake. No exhaust. No aftermarket wheels. No lowering springs. No tune. No collection of parts installed by three different owners over the last two decades. It's still a Mach 1. And for a car like this, that's becoming increasingly important. The 2 Mach 1 brought one of Ford's most recognizable performance names back to the Mustang lineup, complete with the 4.6L DOHC V8, functional shaker scoop and styling deliberately inspired by the original Mach 1. The 2004 model would also be the final Mach 1 of the New Edge generation before Mustang production transitioned to the next platform. This one preserves that formula remarkably well. A New Edge Time Capsule. There are faster Mustangs. There are newer Mustangs. And there are certainly plenty of modified Mustangs. But you can only preserve an original car once. That's what makes this Competition Orange Mach 1 so appealing. It's not trying to be a modern Mustang. It still looks, feels and presents like the kind of car you remember seeing when these were new. Competition Orange paint. Shaker sticking through the hood. Factory wheels. Factory exhaust. Factory interior. No reinterpretation necessary. Texas Hot Rides has specialized in enthusiast, performance and specialty vehicles in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2009, and increasingly, cars like this are becoming part of the collector side of what we do. An unmodified 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in Competition Orange with a Clean Carfax and documented garage-kept history is exactly the kind of New Edge Mustang that's getting harder to duplicate.
