Paired with a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission with overdrive, this drivetrain is calibrated for hauling, not just cruising. The overdrive gearing helps keep highway RPMs low, which translates to better fuel economy on long delivery routes or job-site runs across the Central Valley. ==== Flex Fuel Capability ==== The flex fuel designation means this Express 2500 can run on E85 ethanol blend or regular gasoline, giving fleet operators or owner-operators additional flexibility at the pump. In California, where fuel costs can swing, having the option to run on ethanol when pricing favors it is a genuine operational advantage. ==== Rear-Wheel Drive ==== The RWD configuration is the standard and preferred setup for cargo vans in this class. With proper weight distribution from cargo loading, RWD delivers strong traction and predictable handling whether you're navigating Fresno's surface streets, merging onto Highway 99, or making deliveries out into Fresno County's agricultural and industrial corridors. ===== Chevrolet Express 2500 Features and Interior ===== The Express 2500 Cargo in its 3-door body configuration is designed with utility front and center. The cargo area offers a flat, open floor plan that maximizes usable space for tools, equipment, product deliveries, or custom shelving builds. The driver's area features a straightforward dashboard layout practical controls, clear sightlines, and a driving position that's easy to get in and out of during a long day of stops. The cabin is built for work, not luxury, which is exactly what most commercial buyers want. Fewer electronic distractions mean fewer things to go wrong, and the Express platform's simplicity is a key reason fleet managers and tradespeople have trusted it for decades. Power windows, locks, and mirrors are standard for driver convenience, and the large side mirrors give excellent visibility for navigating tight loading docks or busy parking areas. ===== Chevrolet Express 2500 Reliability and Ownership ===== The Chevrolet Express is one of the most enduring commercial van platforms in the American market, and for good reason. The 4.8-liter Vortec V8 is a low-stress engine that shares its architecture with Silverado trucks components are widely available, mechanics know the platform inside and out, and parts are affordable. Transmission service at regular intervals is the single most important maintenance item to stay on top of, and the 6-speed HD unit in this van is robust when properly maintained. Owne>
