2000 BMW M5* 394 HP 5.0-liter V-8 Engine 6-Speed Manual Transmission RWD, Limited Slip Differential VIN: WBSDE9349YBZ97109 20,367 Miles Driven: 2000 BMW M5 Is a Four-Door German Corvette - More Proof that More is Better. Much Better. The thrust of the V-8 seems almost limitless. As with a number of Japanese superbikes, there's an electric-motor feel to the acceleraᆳtion no peaks, no valleys, just a sense of endless upsurge. Keep upshifting long enough, and you'll hit escape velocity. Escape from what? Well, just about anything else with four wheels and four doors. - From the February 1999 issue of Car and Driver, Reviewed by Tony Swan and published June 18, 2026. See the entire story here: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a8/2000-bmw-m5-archive-drive/ Offered here is a one owner, low mileage example of the classic E39 M5. Finished in Jet Black with an all leather black interior, its many features include power 2-way one touch moonroof, tire pressure monitoring, xenon headlamps, halogen fog lights, illuminated M shift knob, dual zone automatic climate control, 10-way M Design heated seats with power headrests, rain sensing windshield wipers, headlamp washers, and more. Tires are new Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the original 18 in. M wheels. The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel fronts an M-branded 185-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a smooth shifting Getrag six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The infotainment system does not work, though the engine makes its own music. Both OEM and modern (Apple Car Play/Android) aftermarket systems are available, and we think any replacement should be the new owner s choice. The 4.9-liter S62 V8 is equipped with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS continuously variable valve timing. It was factory rated at 394 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm. This comfortable performance sedan will accelerate from 0-to-62-mph in 5.3 secᆳonds, with a top speed of 155 mph (govt. limited, and if you happen to have an autobahn nearby). Included are all books & manuals, the original window sticker, a BMW Advanced Battery Charging System unit, a front license plate holder, and service records from May, 2009 to present. It was recently serviced (4/28/26 at 20,361 miles), with an engine oil (synthetic) & filter change, replacement of the windshield washer pump, a suspension control arm, power steering return hoses, valve covers gaskets & seal, TPMS sensors, cabin air filter set, a brake fluid flush, with a complete inspection & test drive and has been stored inside the local shop ever since. A clean Carfax with no issues reported and 27 service records is available on request.
