DIY camper conversion, built by us with a lightweight, utilitarian approach. We've used it for camping, trail-run tailgating, road-trip hotel replacement, and day, river, and beach trips without compromising on comfort. With kids now, we need a more practical family daily driver, so it's time to let her go. -- Vehicle -- No mechanical or electrical problems so far. All maintenance was done at the Mercedes-Benz dealership we bought it from. Two cosmetic items (marked red in photos): a hairline windshield crack (est. $600 to repair) and a damaged right-side mirror that is fully functional. We have the replacement mirror and will include it in the sale. -- Camper Specs -- House electric (separate from the vehicle's system): roof-rack solar panel, lithium-ion battery, 15A 12V system, and a labeled charge controller. It powers the USB ports, 12V outlet, mini fridge, house lights, and an aftermarket head unit with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, all without draining the starter battery. Buildout: simple 2x2 and 2x4 wood construction that is easy to modify, remove, or redo. Full-size bed folds down flat. Metal IKEA storage counter is bolted down. Floor, ceiling, and walls are insulated with 3M Thinsulate SM200L, finished with a carbon fiber blanket ceiling and thin plywood walls. Note: the back doors and sliding door are not paneled, so black metal and insulation show there. Heat/air: wall-mounted propane catalytic heater for efficient warmth in cold weather. Two vent fans (one over the bed, one over the main living area) provide airflow and condensation control. Included (optional): blackout reflective window covers, side/back door bug screens, small mini fridge, manuals, leveling chocks, and custom-fit mattress.
