If you're searching for a 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf SE for sale in Riverside, CA, this white hatchback at ALSBOU MOTORS - RIVERSIDE deserves a close look. With 66,874 miles on the clock and a clean electric drivetrain, this is a practical, eco-friendly commuter that makes excellent sense for Southern California drivers who want to escape the gas pump for good. ===== About This 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf SE ===== The 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf SE is one of the more underrated used electric vehicles on the market, offering a refined European driving experience at a price point that puts pure EVs within reach of everyday buyers. This particular example finished in a sharp white exterior comes in at just under 67,000 miles, which is a reasonable figure for a six-year-old electric vehicle, especially one that has spent its life largely in California's mild climate. Electric motors have far fewer moving parts than combustion engines, and with no oil changes, no exhaust system, and no transmission fluid to worry about, these miles carry less mechanical wear than the same number on a gasoline car. ===== 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf Performance and Engine ===== ==== Electric Motor Specs and Real-World Driving ==== Under the hood or rather, up front the e-Golf SE is powered by a single electric motor producing 115 horsepower and an impressive 199 lb-ft of torque. That torque figure is the key takeaway here. Because electric motors deliver their full torque instantly, the e-Golf feels genuinely quick off the line, especially in stop-and-go Riverside traffic where you need responsive acceleration most. The automatic single-speed transmission means there are no gear shifts, just smooth, linear power delivery every time. Paired with front-wheel drive, the e-Golf is composed and predictable in daily driving conditions. The regenerative braking system recaptures energy during deceleration, which extends range and reduces brake wear a real ownership advantage. For commuters navigating the 91, the 60, or surface streets across the Inland Empire, this powertrain is purpose-built for that kind of duty cycle. ===== Volkswagen e-Golf Features and Interior ===== ==== What the SE Trim Brings to the Table ==== The SE trim level positions the e-Golf above the base model with a meaningful set of features designed to make everyday driving comfortable and connected. Buyers can expect a well-appointed interior with VW's typically solid build quality the kind of cabin refinement that set Volkswagen apart from many competitors in the compact electric segment. The SE typically includes a touchscreen infotainment system, heated front seats a genuine luxury for early morning Riverside commutes in winter push-button start, and a suite of driver convenience features. The hatchback body style adds practical versatility. The rear cargo area is genuinely usable, and the folding rear seats open up additional carrying capacity when you need it. As a five-door hatchback, it's easy to get in and out, and visibility is solid all around. ===== Volkswagen e-Golf Reliability and Ownership ===== ==== What Owners and Experts Say ==== The e-Golf has earned a strong reputation among EV enthusiasts who appreciate its understated competence. Unlike some early-generation electric vehicles, the e-Golf was built on Volkswagen's well-engineered Golf platform, meaning the chassis, suspension, and structure were already proven quantities. Owners consistently praise the ride quality, interior build, and the fact that it drives like a proper car rather than an appliance. Battery degradation is the most common concern buyers raise about any used EV, and it's a fair one. California's moderate climate is among the best in the country for battery longevity extreme heat is a lithium battery's biggest enemy, and Riverside's warm but not extreme winters help >
