2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab Duramax LLY / Allison 6-Speed 171.455 miles I originally bought this truck as a Dale Earnhardt tribute truck and have really enjoyed owning it. This is a purpose-built towing truck with the desirable 6.6L Duramax LLY diesel and Allison 6-speed automatic transmission, along with a towing shift kit. It has a low-restriction exhaust, lifetime high-flow air filter, and Edge programmer. Fuel economy has been very good for a 1-ton dieselabout 21 MPG empty, and we averaged 13.1 MPG while towing our 39-foot fifth-wheel trailer around the country. The truck also has a gooseneck hitch installed in the bed, making it ready for serious towing. We no longer have the trailer, so I've decided to sell what has been my favorite truck. The Good 6.6L Duramax LLY diesel Allison 6-speed automatic Towing shift kit 50-gallon auxiliary fuel tank Large storage box Edge programmer Low-restriction exhaust Lifetime high-flow air filter Gooseneck hitch in bed Les Schwab HD road tires in good condition Excellent towing history The Needs I'm pricing the truck accordingly because it needs some work. One glow plug is broken. Ron Tonkin Chevrolet diagnosed it and told me the cylinder head would need to be removed to repair it. The aftermarket radio was causing a battery drain, so it was disconnected. The radio currently does not work. The headliner is sagging/falling down. The original Chevy paint has suffered from the well-known GM paint-peeling problem. There is significant paint loss on the exterior. The cabin is otherwise in reasonably good shape for its age. I'm being upfront about the condition so there are no surprises. This would make a good project for someone who knows Duramax trucks, wants a capable tow rig, or is looking for a solid 3500HD at a price that reflects the work needed. Priced to sell. Serious inquiries welcome.
